This full day high speed rail travel unescorted tour leaves London King's Cross Station at 7.00 am (departure time to be confirmed) and arrives at York Station about 2 hours later.
Here you take the Hop On Hop Off city bus tour of York included in your day pack which has been designed to give you the best insight into the city and The Shambles (quaint old alleyways and lanes) where you can later browse in its antique shops, wander around the market or relax in one of the many old coffee shops.
Yorks city walls, built during the 13th century are amongst the most impressive medieval fortifications in Europe. Inside them you will find a thriving, bustling city centre with charming medieval streets and Georgian houses overlooking the River Ouse. Your tour includes admission to the Jorvik Viking Centre, for a unique insight into the life of the Vikings. See the York Minster, famous for its wealth of stained glass and hisotry. Walk down Kirkgate, a street of Victorian shops and visit the King William pub.
If there's time you could visit Fairfax House, the Merchan and a ticket to the Jorvik Viking Ct Adventurers Hall, York Castle Museum or York Art Gallery before catching the train back to London where it is due to arrive back in London at apbout 20:30 hrs (see precise timing in your ticket).
