May: Royal Chelsea Flower Show. This event attracts the world’s most talented garden designers and show gardens are very creative displaying thousands of plants. The smaller gardens are split into different categories: the stylish and bold chic gardens, courtyard gardens, which are for rural or semi-rural settings and city gardens, for urban spaces. The exhibitors prepare for the show for months in advance, nurturing and preening plants, moving them from hot to cold temperatures and even wrapping blooms in cotton wool, to make sure they are at their very best for the event. June: "The Knollys Red Rose Rent". Feast of John the Baptist, since 1381, one red rose is plucked from Seething Lane and presented to the Lord Mayor on the altar of All Hallows by the Tower. The Rent of one Rose is paid in recognition of Sir Robert Knollys who built an unauthorized foot bridge across Seething Lane.

August: London Festival kicks off with three weeks of spectacular outdoor performances taking place - Evolving City Colourful installations, circus tricks and a soundtrack ranging from classical to jazz. Week 2 - Turning City From whirling dervishes to dance pieces performed on giant ‘German wheels’, this week's got heads spinning. Week 3 - Rising City ends on a high. Literally! Cutty Sark:(Opening in 2010) Greenwich South East London Suburbs. Reached by Docklands Light Railway station. The clipper is a very unusual venue. Meals are served on the 'tween deck and buffets and receptions can be held in the lower hold where you can mingle with the large collection of figureheads: Abraham Lincoln, Sir Lancelot and Florence Nightingale (in the form of figureheads). For a smaller event, the Masters saloon, an elegant panelled room where the Captain used to dine seats 10. The ship is appropriate for guests of a good sense of humour and fearless of the British weather. A treasure hunt can be organised, a special actor-led Dark Tour of the ship can highlight the on-board ghosts! Talented musicians are available for a modest charge.

Design Museum:Located in an elegant modern building on the south bank of the River Thames, the location offers excellent views of the City of London and Canary Wharf. Described by fashion designer, Sir Paul Smith, as "the natural home for everyone who has ever enjoyed or appreciated design", a perfect location for special events for the young professional artist. It caters for 500 Corporate daytime and evening events and conferences.

Docklands Museum: This venue (when and if you find it) traces the 2000 year history of the Port of London and the people who lived in it. Because it is such a recent addition to the London venue events world, it is very high tech (a sort of 'Jack the Ripper' searching atmosphere), comfortable and easy to absorb in its presentation. From Roman times to the present days, a very chic and splendid journey in this ex warehouse surrounded by wharves and docks. Restored with caring attention to details, with original pine columns and floors juxtaposed stylishly with rustic contemporary fittings. State of the art lecture theatre for 800, as well as two restored function rooms with quayside views. Dulwich Gallery:The first British gallery to be opened to the public in the UK. Extremely friendly catering organisers, can entertain up to 150 guests at a seated dinner or 350 guests can be invited to a standing reception in the Gallery. The Linbury Room and Picture Gallery Café, designed by Rick Mather as part of the new extension, are available for dinners, receptions and presentations, with space for 120 to be seated in theatre style. The Gallery is linked to the extension by an elegant glass and bronze cloister, which opens on to extensive lawns, idyllic in a perfect summer evening. Not easily accessible by public transport, but no one minds as the atmosphere has been preserved of an original London Village. South East London suburbs.

Guildhall: Stunning historic gothic style City venue, parts of which date back to the twelfth century. Headquarters of the Corporation of London - provide a splendid venue for state and civic banquets. Still very much used for local and national government business. Its history, architecture and position in the heart of the City make it a venue of great national significance. Badly bombarded by the Germans during WW2, it has a long history - the Corporation itself is over 800 years old and, regular meetings with the Lord Mayor are still held there. An extra bonus is the old relicks displayed in glass cases near the entrance.

Hampton Court Palace:Many of the palaces magnificent state rooms are offered for receptions, banquets and other prestigious functions and events. The Great Hall where Henry VIII held his famous dinners in the 16th c. is available for 600 guests or a small dinner for a select few in the intimacy of William III's Banqueting House. During the summer months it is possible to use the stunning Privy Garden for receptions or to erect a marquee within the picturesque setting of the Apprentice Garden for both daytime and evening events. A guided tour of the State Apartments can be arranged to enhance the event with costumed guides and/or Beating Retreat and Firework displays can take place in the East Front Gardens. Hampton Court Palace has been the home of great hospitality over the centuries for both formal occasions and special events, a heritage which still continues to this day.

Saved as a reminder of Britain's Naval Heritage, HMS Belfast has hosted many events and is conveniently situated opposite the Tower of London. Hispaniola:

Horniman Museum: Set in acres of gardens in the South East suburbs of London, a Victorian building with easy access and parking. This small museum offers an unusual and friendly location for an event surrounded by artefacts of natural history, anthropology and musical instruments from around the world. Sir David Attenborough, Patron. It has a contemporary extention suitable for weddings, private parties, product launch, or corporate reception.

Imperial War Museum: The large glass-roofed main atrium contains a rare and unique Battle of Britain Spitfire; Montgomery's tank; the smallest boat used at Dunkirk; and 'Old Bill', a London bus that once transported troops on the western front during WWI. Versatile main atrium for venues for events with a military theme, being film premiers, 1940 fashion shows, product launches, receptions, charity balls and gala dinners. Jerwood Space: A beutifully refurbished Victorian building suitable for a variety of corporate events.

Institution of Civil Engineers Built in 1910 in a stunning architectural style. Rooms are named after some of the most famous Civil Engineers. The Telford Theatre was named after the Institution’s first president. The Godfrey Mitchell Theatre and the Great Hall are used for filming of TV series, meetings, conferences and banquets. They include state-of-the-art equipment, PA system and wireless broadband Internet access.

Kensington Palace: Ideal for Charity formal dinners and receptions. The Orangery at Kensington Palace was designed for Queen Anne by Hawksmoor in 1704. Situated in private formal gardens, the Orangery is available for functions during the summer and offers a haven of peace for intimate functions, the Victorian Garden Rooms are situated on the ground floor of the palace and may be combined with a reception in the Sunken Gardens or Queen's Gallery. Kew Bridge Steam Museum:

Kew Gardens: Founded in the Georgian period in 1759 the Botanic Gardens have a collection of rare plants and a global scientific resource and leading centre for plant conservation. Situated in the suburbs of London, on the banks of the river Thames, it boasts about 400 acres of land and over 40,000 variety of flowers, plants and trees, some of them kept in enormous greenhouses. The landscape provide the best grand scale event for garden lovers and wedding receptions in one of the most romantic surroundings. It also boasts a choice of a Pagoda, an ex Royal Palace and easily accessible by public transport and by boat.

Leighton House:The opulence of this House is most evident in the Arab Hall, the centrepiece of Leighton House. The fountain in the centre of the Hall is surrounded by Isnik tiles which are hundreds of years old, and a dazzling gilt mosaic frieze, depicting birds and scenes of mythology, evoking the world of the Arabian Nights. This feeling of fantasy extends throughout the other rooms of the House, culminating in Leighton's Studio, with its great north window and gilded dome and apse. Riverbank Park Plaza: New venue for London. Too near for transport and too far walking. Fairly Central London Venue for Conference with a stunning view of the Thames from the venue terrace and good quality food.
